Workshop 1: Relax into the Holi-daze
Date: February 2, 2013, Groundhog Day
Restorative yoga is a powerful practice that allows you to rest deeply and completely. With your body draped over props, you will feel held and supported as your body gently surrenders to gravity, allowing your body and mind to unwind as you drop into the sanctuary of stillness and peace that lies within all of us. Whether you have a strong physical practice, no yoga experience at all, or have chronic injuries or conditions, Leslie will engage her training and experience as a yoga therapist to modify poses for each individual to create relaxation and rejuvenation for every body.
Sound and music have been regarded as healing and medicinal tools across cultures and from the beginning of time, playing an important part in individual and community healing and wellbeing. Modern science has proven that the body’s nervous system responds to sound vibration to induce the relaxation response and meditative mind, reducing stress and enhancing wellbeing. A sound therapist and healing artist who combines her love of music with complementary therapies, Fawntice will be playing Tibetan Singing Bowls and Ritual Bells that she has collected from all over the world. The music she creates is profoundly restful and deeply healing.
We will end the afternoon with a guided meditation that will give you clarity about what cultivates your inner light and inspires you to shine!
